Happy World Motorcycle Day!
Every year on June 21st ‘World Motorcycle Day’ is celebrated. Coinciding with the longest day of the year and allowing for some extra hours of riding, the day is designed to promote freedom on the road and recognition of all things relating to motorcycling. Every year a different theme is selected, with this year’s being “Embracing the Spirit of Adventure.”
For many bikers motorcycles are simply a mode of transport, allowing for travel to work or go about their daily lives, in an efficient and affordable way. But for many more, bikes provide a circle of like-minded friends, a platform to exchange ideas and offer help (i.e. community garages / road skills), an adrenaline rush through racing, a reason to travel locally or the world, to support charity fundraising, or voluntarily give time to a network that many organisations rely on (i.e. blood / milk or PPE delivery, marshalling).
B.I.K.E.R.S Training started out 12 years ago and we made it our vision to support this fantastic group of road users – showing them necessary and up-to-date life saving skills to help each other.
2023 has proven to be our busiest year so far; 16 courses to date and training over 150 bikers, of which 1/5 are recertifications.
While the numbers may not seem huge to some, it still shows the need for this motorcycle specific course and the willingness of bikers to engage with it. Although, the most important part for us, is the significant impact it potentially has on a rider that is down!
Thank you so much for your continued support and stay safe in your endeavors,
from all of us at B.I.K.E.R.S Training
