All too often bikers hear ‘sorry, I just didn’t see you!’ following a near-miss. According to the Road Safety Authority (Road Collision Facts 2009), motorcyclists account for about 2% of road vehicles, but almost 11% of all fatalities. These figures correspond with research by the Department of Transport in the UK.
The course starts with some theory but is predominantly practical based. A total of 5 skills are taught, of which 3 will be formally assessed.
Once the learners are comfortable with their newly acquired skills, further practise is given by means of scenarios, combining all of these skills.
Following completion of the assessment, successful participants will be issued with a certificate by the Quality Casualty Care Alliance, UK, which is valid for 3 years. Over four hundred riders and drivers have taken part on the course to date.
We look forward to meeting bikers from all across Ireland and the UK!
