Sergeant Nigel O’Neill, of Ardee Garda Station, has launched the ‘Louth Division Bike Safe Initiative’ and is looking for expressions of interest from the biking community.
The training and assessment aims to reduce the number of motorcycle casualties by passing on knowledge, skills and experience of an advanced Garda motorcyclist, to help you become a safer and more competent rider. It is provided on a voluntary basis by Sergeant O’Neill and is free of charge. Courses will hopefully commence from early January and are to be held at Drogheda Garda Station, Saturdays and Sundays.
Being a biking enthusiast himself, socially as well as work related, Sergeant O’Neill is very interested in the promotion of Biker Safety, general Road Safety and Driver Training. Having been in involved in the set-up of the Bike Safe Campaign for the Dublin Region, he is now hoping to bring it to the North Eastern Region.
For more detailed information please contact Sergeant O’Neill directly at louthbikesafe@gmail.com, including your name and contact number.
